Seasons
A season combines one club’s tournaments into a series. Completed tournaments contribute season points and additional statistics to a shared player leaderboard. This suits regular events such as a spring championship or weekly league.
Tournaments, players, teams and seasons belong to a club. See Clubs. Only the club administrator can create and edit seasons.
Club season list
Seasons lists all seasons of the open club. Cards show name, status, date range, description, tournament count and last update.

Above the list are name search and a button that opens the filter panel. Click again to hide it.
- Status — Created, Active or Finished. All statuses removes this restriction.
- Start date — From and To define the allowed season start-date range.
- End date — equivalent fields filter season end dates.
Set both date boundaries or just one. To find seasons starting in September, use September 1–30 under Start date. Combine with Active to show only active seasons starting in that range. Changes update the list; Reset clears filters and search.
Click a card to open the season. Long lists have pagination above and below.
Season statuses
Status shows the season’s current phase. Club administrators change it from the menu in the season header.
Created Prepared but not yet underway.
Active The club’s current, ongoing series.
Finished The season has ended. Administrators can resume it or return it to Created.
Season status does not automatically start or finish tournaments. Each has its own status on the tournament page.
Season page
The header shows status, name, start date and end date. Four tabs appear below.
A summary of the current, recently finished and upcoming tournaments, plus leaders in points, bonuses, performance and rating change.
Full scoring conditions: scoring mode, placement points, limits, tiebreaks and bonus rules.
All season tournaments with search, filters and prize winners. Expand a finished event to see final places and participant statistics.
Detailed player standings with points, tournament results, ratings, performance and additional statistics.
Which tournaments belong to a season
Seasons have no separate registration. Players enter club tournaments included in the series. Administrators can link new events or add completed ones.
The season name on a tournament page links to the series.
Completed tournament results count. If Count only rated tournaments is enabled, friendly events do not contribute season points. See Rated status.
Season tournaments
Tournaments lists upcoming, ongoing and finished events. Names are accompanied by date, status and playing conditions, and link to detailed tournament pages.
Finished events show winners, prize places and final participant positions.

Search and filters
Search by part of a tournament name or a player’s first/last name. Team events can also be found by team name or member names.
Player search works for events with published results. Unfinished events or those without results can only be found by tournament name.
Behind the button are filters for the events you want, such as a particular month or rated events only. You can also select variant, system and individual/team format.
- Period — tournament dates; set both boundaries or one.
- Status — upcoming (Created), current (In progress) or Finished.
- System — a particular pairing system, such as Swiss or round robin.
- Chess variant — events in the selected discipline.
- Format — individual or team.
- Rating: all — rated, friendly or both.

Search and filters combine, for example to find rated tournaments featuring a player. Reset restores the full season list.
Long lists offer pagination and 10, 25, 50 or 100 events per page.
Prize winners and results
Winners and prize places are visible immediately. Expand the arrow on the left to view everyone’s final standings.
Player rows show place, points and game results. Rated events also show rating change and performance. Team standings include team places and rosters.
See Standings for these statistics.
How season points are calculated
Scoring rules appear on Information and are set during season creation.
Scoring mode
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| Points for places | Assign season points to places or ranges: for example, 10 for first, 9 for second, 8 for third, down to 1 for tenth. |
| Sum of tournament points | Transfer the player’s tournament score into the season. |
Tied places follow the rule selected when creating the season.
Best results and tiebreaks
A counting percentage includes only each player’s best results. With 80% and ten season events, eight best results count. Full table still lets you view all their events.
Manual bonuses, including Extra bonus, count from every eligible completed tournament the player entered. The 80% limit does not exclude them. Automatic bonuses count only from selected tournaments. With ten played events and eight selected, manual bonuses use ten and automatic bonuses eight. Disabled fields and rules are excluded.
Best tournaments are selected by base season points, then automatic bonuses on ties. Manual bonuses do not affect selection.
Equal season totals use the administrator’s chosen tiebreaks. TB1, TB2 and subsequent table labels show their order.
See Standings for Buchholz. Performance and rating changes come from completed rated events; see Ratings.
Season leaderboard
The leaderboard always ranks players. Team tournament results contribute to each member’s individual season row.
Player search and Full table appear above. The main view shows counted results; full view shows all season events while retaining season rank.
In counted view, wins, prize places, podiums and average place use only selected events. Manual bonuses still include all eligible events; automatic bonuses use selected ones. Enable Full table to view the rest.

The table contains:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| # | Row number. Sequential in the current display order: 1, 2, 3 and so on, regardless of sorting. |
| Season place. Rank determined by season points and tiebreaks; sorting other columns does not change it. | |
| Player | Player name and profile. |
| Points | Counted tournament points plus bonuses. |
| Perf. | Season performance based on played games. |
| ΔR | Season rating change; empty if unavailable. |
| Tournaments. Counted events for the player. Full table shows all their season events. | |
![]() | Prize places. Separate columns count first, second and third places. |
![]() | Podiums. Total top-three finishes: first, second and third combined. |
| Average place. Arithmetic mean of places in counted events. Places 2, 4 and 6 average 4. Lower is better. | |
![]() | Game wins. Total wins in counted events. Higher is better. |
| BH | Buchholz. Sum of the player’s Buchholz values in counted events. Reflects opponents’ results; higher is better for this tiebreak. |
| P | Tournament points. Total before bonuses. |
| B1, B2… | Bonus fields. Individual manual bonus fields configured for the season. |
| R1, R2… | Additional rules. Individual automatic bonus rule awards. |
| Σ | Total within the corresponding manual-field or automatic-rule group. |
| ΣΣ | Combined manual and automatic bonuses. |
Click a column header to sort; click again to reverse. Compare points, performance or wins. Row numbers remain sequential while season places stay unchanged. Click the trophy header to restore season rank order.
If head-to-head is a selected tiebreak, a corresponding label appears above the table.
Player results by tournament
Expand the arrow beside a player for event details: name, date, place, performance, rating change, points, game wins and bonuses. Icons before names identify variant and time control. Total includes bonuses. Tournament names link to their pages.
Counted marks selected events. Excluded events are dimmed: their base points and automatic bonuses do not count, but enabled manual bonuses still do. This shows which events contributed under a best-results limit such as 80%.

Bonuses
Bonuses add season points. For individual tournaments, administrators enter them manually or configure automatic rules. For online events and other separate activities, use bonuses outside tournaments: select Bonuses below the season heading to manage them.
Outside-tournament awards accumulate by field and count in full regardless of the best-tournament limit. Expanded leaderboard rows show a separate Bonuses outside tournaments section with fields, dates, comments, points and a total. Awards can change season places, but do not change game results, tournament counts or ratings. A player can appear in the leaderboard through these awards alone.
See Season bonuses and Bonuses outside tournaments.
