Tournament pairings
Pairings shows everything happening at the boards: generated rounds, opponents, game results and current stage progress. Use it to follow the tournament and find matches.
Club administrators create rounds, enter results and adjust pairings. See Managing a tournament.
Tab layout
The top shows the current stage, time control category and progress. Expand rounds or playoff stages below to see matches and, in team events, individual boards.
Before any rounds exist, the tab says Pairings have not been generated yet. The first generated round appears in this list.
Rounds and match groups
A collapsed round shows its number, game or match count and result summary: ⚪ White wins, ⚫ Black wins and 🤝 draws. Incomplete rounds show chess pieces ♔♕♖♗♘♙; completed ones show 🏁.
Expand a row to see pairings. Seating opens all pairings for that round in a separate dialog, useful for display or a quick opponent check.
Round robin repeats pairings across cycles. Use the switch to group matches by rounds or view each whole cycle. In round view, each row also identifies its cycle.
Individual game card
One card represents one game. White is on the left, Black on the right and the score in the center. A square beside each name indicates color. Rating and game rating change may also appear.
After result entry, each player sees Win, Loss or Draw. A recorded termination reason is also displayed.

An unpaired participant shows BYE instead of an opponent, identifying who sits out that round.
Team matches
The top card shows two teams, their lineups, overall score and scoring method. Board games expand below when applicable. See Format and teams.
Total board score
In ordinary team chess, each board contributes points. The header says Board total, with individual results below. A win and a draw, for example, give the team 1.5 points.

Manual seating
With manual opponent assignment, the service records opposing teams and rosters; the organizer assigns individual opponents and colors outside the service. The card shows lineups and the overall result. See How opponents are paired.

Bughouse
Bughouse teams play two boards, and the first board win ends the match. The header says First win: the match is decided by the first decisive game, not summed points.

Doubles 2x2 and Hand and Brain
The whole team plays on one shared board. The card has one row with both rosters and the overall score; its header says Shared board.

Pairings by system
Swiss system
The header shows created versus planned rounds, such as Rounds created 3 of 5. Generate each new round after the relevant previous games finish. Pairings reflect current standings, so the next round is not fixed in advance.
See Swiss system for its principles.
Round robin
Round robin follows a predefined schedule. The header shows created and total cycles, plus rounds. By rounds / By cycles switches between upcoming matches and an entire cycle.
See Round robin for schedules and cycles.
Playoffs
Before playoffs start, a provisional qualifier list appears. After starting, bracket stages such as quarterfinals, semifinals and the final replace it. Multi-game encounters show the series score beneath their cards.
With two brackets, upper and lower stages appear separately, each with its own path to a winner.
See Playoffs for brackets, series and qualification.
Mixed system
Mixed tournaments keep qualification and playoffs on the same Pairings tab. Switch at any time between Swiss or round-robin qualification and the playoff bracket.
